Kirk Sand in Mid 1970s
Kirk Sand. Young here and cool as always. Mid 1970s. Playing classical guitar at a concert level but increasingly more interested in guitar building.
Kirk and Jim have already opened the now famous Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach by this time as Kirk’s focus turns to innovating his own style of acoustic electric guitars.
Kirk’s designs will ultimately make Sand Guitars famous by the mid 90s for their beautiful tone and playability and beloved to this day by professional nylon string guitar players across musical styles the world over.
